The Father’s Comfort: Some Of Them Were Persuaded

September 5, 2018 Posted by Margo Fieseler Devotionals

Paul talked to them all day, from morning to evening, explaining everything involved in the kingdom of God, and trying to persuade them all about Jesus by pointing out what Moses and the prophets had written about him.

Some of them were persuaded by what he said, but others refused to believe a word of it.

Acts 28:23-27 MSG

The Apostle Paul is stoked. His faith life in Jesus can’t help but overflow onto others around him. That’s why he can share “from morning to evening, explaining everything involved in the kingdom of God.”

But did you notice, no matter how Paul tried to persuade them concerning the truth from the living Scriptures…only some were persuaded.

Humans have the ability to choose. God has given us free will, but He desires we choose Him! That’s why He is constantly pursuing us in His lovingkindness.

But at the end of the day, this Self-Revealing God, will allow you to have what you desire. Oh, don’t get me wrong, He will NEVER give up on you…it’s you who has given up on God.

Thank you, for the reminder, God, that even when I possess the passion of the Apostle Paul, as I share the Good News of Jesus Christ…some will believe and others will not.

Thankfully, You see the heart. I choose to trust your promise in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is patient with you, not wanting anyoneto perish, but everyoneto come to repentance.”

FROM THE COMMUNUTY

Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.
Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
