What characterizes you? When your name comes up, what adjectives are used to describe you?
Are you the one who runs to help out your neighbors, co-workers, family members, friends, the homeless, orphans, widows? Basically anyone God allows you to bump into?
Jesus did. Purposefully. He didn’t try to avoid others’ troubles. He walked right into the midst of the mess, announcing that I am here to help.
Just His presence brought a sweetness, a calmness to the overwhelming situation-at-hand. His personal, warm counsel was a respite in the storm…whether the obstacle was physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
He took on the troubles of the troubled as He desired to show them a better way. He knew He had the answer for their difficulty. He knew He had the best solution. He knew He was the ticket, no matter the headache.
His approach was to “Come after me and I will give you rest.” Not, “come after me after you’ve struggled trying to cope with life.” Right now! In the trouble!! You need the rest now. Not after you have tried to figure it all out.
And as a result of you having received such warm and personal counsel, you can be the “Conduit of Counsel” to the next troubled soul.
Why would you not? You have the Answer to their worriment. The One who declared in John 16, “Oh, there will be trouble in this world. But take heart for I have overcome the world!”
It’s easy to run to someone’s aid when you know that you know you have the Perfect Fix!
