The Father’s Deliverance: Focus, Focus, Focus

May 20, 2015 Posted by Margo Fieseler Devotionals

“People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole..steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit.
Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing. Those who lived high and mighty, he knocked off their horse.” Isaiah 26:1-3 MSG

What is your mind set on? What is your focus? Remember, you become what you focus on.

Isaiah tells us that if we have our minds set…fixed…on God, He will make us completely whole. Nothing missing in our lives. Nothing wanting. Completely satisfied. Satiated with Him.

Plus, we’re steady on our feet. No shaky ground. Our feet are planted in Him. The Solid Rock. When we stand in Him, there is no falling for anything else as He is the One who keeps our feet steady. Our job is to keep focused on Him. Keep doing the next right thing.

When you keep at something, when you don’t quit, you’re able to accomplish what you set out to do. Same with your life in Christ. No matter how life hits you upside the head, you will have already decided that “this is the way to walk and you will walk in it.” Philippians 1:6 says, “that He who began a good work in you WILL complete it.” That’s God’s promise!

So, we need to depend on Him. Rely on Him for everything. Trust Him. Have faith in Him…knowing that He will fulfill His promises.

Why depend on Him and not your own wisdom? Because “in The Lord God you have a sure thing.” Your own wisdom will fail you. Your friends will fail you. Your family will fail you. The Lord God will never fail you.

We must remember that we are dependent creatures on Him. That fact alone should keep us humble. Knowing “that from Him, to Him and through Him are all things.” (Romans 11).

Lastly, many of us think that we are in control, but we are not. When we live as if we are in control, we puff up. Pride sets in, thinking we’re high and mighty. Nothing and no one can touch us.

That’s a precarious way to live. That’s when God lovingly brings us to our knees, knocks us off our high horse, so we can come to a humble place. He wants to regain our attention.

There’s the wake-up call. We recognize, that once again, “in The Lord God you have a sure thing.”
Stay focused on Him. He’s got all the rest!

FROM THE COMMUNUTY

Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.
Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
