Moment-by-moment. Yep, that’s how God made us to live. But, we human beings take life into our hands (as if we could control it anyway) and then get all uptight about getting this or getting that, so there is no possible way to relax. Our focus is on the getting instead of on the receiving of what God is already giving.
See, He’s ALWAYS giving. But is our radar up and ready to receive His gifts? How do we keep our radar ready to receive? By knowing Him. Knowing how He works. That involves non-negotiable, face-to-face time…daily reading and responding to God’s Word…the Bible!!! Then we don’t have to fuss as we already know and rest in who He is!
Next, we need to steep. That’s more than linger. That’s staying. Staying with God. Steep in what He is doing. Steep in His provisions. Steep in His creation. Totally immerse (like a tea bag in hot water) and become infused with who God is and what He is doing. You won’t miss out on a thing that God is doing in and through you…and you’ll be pleasantly amazed that your everyday human concerns are already met.
You WILL miss out on relaxation and provision that God has at-the-ready for you if you don’t give your attention to what God is doing right now. Right now. That requires a grateful heart. Focus is on Him and off of yourself and your wants. Relax…He’s got it!
