The Father’s Invitation: Radically Changed For The Better

February 21, 2025 Posted by Margo Fieseler Uncategorized

Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard John’s witness and followed Jesus. The first thing he did after finding where Jesus lived was find his own brother,

Simon, telling him, “We’ve found the Messiah” (that is, “Christ”). He immediately led him to Jesus.   ‭‭

John‬ ‭1:40-41 ‭MSG‬‬

What’s the very first thing you do when you receive good news? Do you keep it quietly to yourself? Or do you run and share your excitement with your family and friends?

Good news is meant to be shouted from the rooftops! Good news encourages you and all those around you. That’s the very nature of good news…it is good!

When Andrew had heard the good news about Jesus, from John the Baptist, he did the next right thing. He became a follower of Jesus. He even sought out where Jesus was staying and then ran and blurted out this amazingly good news to his brother, Simon. He couldn’t contain himself.

See, when it’s good news, you aren’t concerned about the person’s reaction to you. You are more concerned about just getting out the good news.

So when Andrew heard about Jesus, he wanted his brother in on the “best news ever!” And then he not only told him about Jesus but actually led him to Jesus immediately. That’s without delay. No questions asked. “C’mon, let’s go see for yourself about this good news.”

Andrew had not only found Jesus, he had insider information to share about Jesus. “He’s the Messiah! The Promised One! The Savior! The Christ! Let’s go see Him now!”

Do you do that? Do I? Is meeting Jesus the best news ever? If so, why are we not compelled to share who He is and what He has done to radically change our lives for the better?

I mean Jesus IS the Christ! He’s just not another Jesus of Nazareth. He is THE Jesus Christ! THE Messiah! THE Savior of the world, but the more important good news, is He is MY Savior!

When Jesus becomes your personal Savior, (because it is so evident that you need to be rescued), then you want to immediately take others to meet Jesus. That’s the very nature of good news.

And Jesus, the Christ, is the best news you will ever hear. Once He has become your Savior, you are forgiven and free, not because of anything you did to earn that “status” but because of everything He did for you through His blood on the cross. Through His death…for the forgiveness of sin…and through His resurrection…for living life to the full!

FROM THE COMMUNUTY

Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.
Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
