The Father’s Perfect Timing: Going Home

October 2, 2023 Posted by Margo Fieseler Uncategorized

“Don’t let this throw you. You trust God, don’t you? Trust me. There is plenty of room for you in my Father’s home. If that weren’t so, would I have told you that I’m on my way to get a room ready for you?
And if I’m on my way to get your room ready, I’ll come back and get you so you can live where I live. And you already know the road I’m taking.”
John 14:1-4 MSG

Don’t you love when your room is all done up for you? Ready for you to enjoy? That wonderful feeling when you open the door and the room is perfectly clean and inviting. Fresh towels. Crisp linens. It speaks aloud to enter and delight in it.
Well, imagine the room Jesus is preparing, just for you, in His Father’s house…heaven! Incomparable. Perfect in every way.

I mean, if Jesus is the “Preparer” of your room, and He is, then it will be prepared perfectly with you in mind.

There’s going to be so much rejoicing and gladness when you arrive in heaven that your room won’t be the first thing on your mind. I mean, this is the Father’s Big House! And Jesus is personally escorting you from your earthly home to your forever home!

You were made for this. Ever since you had accepted (while on earth) that Jesus “is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him,” heaven has been your home. The Bible calls you a “citizen of heaven.” You are just waiting for your appointed time to move into the Father’s home. Psalm 139 tells us “that every day has been ordained before one of them came to be.” So Jesus knows your moving day and He is personally getting your room ready for your arrival. Not a minute too soon or a minute too late. His perfect timing.

I mean, you’re never moving out of this grand and grace-filled home. This isn’t a temporary abode. This is for all eternity. Forever. Always. Never-ending. “If you were able to count the grains of sand of the sea” that would just be the start of forever.

You know your room will be filled with the things that really matter. I’m sure there will be a huge, Welcome Basket full of fruit. The fruit that never decays. Real fruit that the Holy Spirit provided in and through you while on earth…love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Now that fruit has become completely ripe for you to enjoy!

Just the fact that you will live where Jesus lives will be enough joy for all eternity.

And the “Welcome Home” sign, hanging on your door, (I’m sure it’s written in Jesus’ blood) assures you that since you were abiding with Jesus on earth, even though you could not see Him (walked by faith)…you will abide in His abode forever. Your eyes of faith now see!

When I arrive, I’m sure I will notice that Jesus added little personal touches to my room…like a vase of Bird of Paradise (my favorite flower) and a tray of guacamole and blue chips (my fav to share with you!)

FROM THE COMMUNUTY

Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.
Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
